So What are Capsules all about?
How I discovered capsules and why Im on a mission to help other women discover the freedom and versatility that Capsule wardrobes can offer.
I am a total Shopping addict! I mean to say I Really love shopping!
When Im out shopping, I get totally seduced by all of the shiny, pretty sparkly things and in ALL of the colours!
Up until fairly recently I had a shocking amount of clothes but regularly couldn’t find anything to wear. I was forever pulling things out of my wardrobe that matched nothing else in my wardrobe. I must also confess to having a large number of items with the labels still on. (I should also mention that I’m a 47 year old woman with the attention span of a 2 year old!)
Despite this “ Oh look squirrel!” mentality, in my home and in other areas of my life I am somewhat of a minimalist, I cant stand clutter and got really frustrated with most of my home being organised whilst my wardrobe was a hot mess!
Eventually something had to give. Now as someone who is also somewhat lazy, I am always trying trying to do things in a way that expends the least energy for the biggest reward. So this desire for efficiency, along with disliking waste both on an environmental and financial level, led me down the path to capsule wardrobes.
So what is a Capsule Wardrobe?
A Capsule wardrobe is quite simply “A small number of interchangeable items of clothing that maximise the number of outfits that can be created.
The ultimate aim of the capsule wardrobe is to have an outfit suitable for any occasion without having excessive items of clothing.
There are a lot of people who have strict rules on maximum numbers that should be included in a capsule or what colours are allowed and aren’t allowed however that is not capsulewardrobe.com is about.
I just want to help women. Women who often struggle to feel pulled together, women who wake up early in the morning only to be late for work because they cant find anything appropriate to wear. Women on a budget who don’t want to waste money on clothes that they never wear or wear just once. In short I want to share what Ive learned with the You Lady! And I hope you will stick around for the ride!
